In the Paddock at Racetrim - August 2025
The "In the Paddock at Racetrim" blog series communicates what I'm working on and where the platform is going.
Platform Growth
Overall, small volume but a huge couple of months considering where we began. Session results are now being stored from Racetrim servers, which enables new metrics about the amount of racing fun Racetrim players have given back to the broader ACC community.

Racetrim Discord
Since the last ITP@RTP blog the Racetrim discord has taken off. I am so grateful for the excellent people that have joined to run races and talk sim racing with us. It started with a server named "NOT MONZA OR SPA! TRY IT!" and from there we've formed a group of 70+ players focused on getting into servers with various conditions and tracks that aren't exclusively Monza and Spa. In my view, we've become a place that fits somewhere between the typical chaos of ACC pub lobbies, and the commitment of an ACC league. We play when we can, with who we have on, and its all about fun! By being friendly on track and in chat we've been able to see some top-notch pub lobby racing. Only rarely have I seen dirty driving or incessant abuse in chat, and that's when we break out the /kick command. I hope we've created a good place to learn and improve at racing. The sunset races at Kyalami and 24H Nurburgring have been my favorites.
Come join us on discord.
Quick-Sync BOP
You can create your own custom BOP in Racetrim now. Or you can choose to sync your BOP to a well-crafted BOP widely used by the most serious ACC leagues and multiplayer competitions. Creating a BOP is simple and quick, and so is assigning it on server settings. Enjoy!
ACC Results Data
The ACC server harness I've built now monitors session results and sends to the app for storage. There were many edge cases and peculiarities in processing ACC results, but having the data cleaned up, normalized, and available to slice and dice opens up possibilities for many cool features. I'm hopeful and excited that these capabilities could be something truly useful to ACC players.
Here's where things are now:
- Session results for every session that runs on a Racetrim ACC server is stored.
- Dig into individual laps for each car in the session.
- Find all the sessions you have participated in on Racetrim servers.
- See basic personal stats (i.e. fastest laps, valid %) for each track you've run on.
- Download full ACC results JSON for each session, for interop with other tools and apps.

What could be next?
- Race plot visualizations to tell the story of each race.
- Allow searching for session results by server name and/or drivers.
- Dig into track specific data for insights on lap time distributions and sector times.
